Pierre Bonnard
Pierre Bonnard (born October 3, 1867, in Fontenay-aux-Roses near Paris; died January 23, 1947, in Le Cannet near Cannes) was a French Post-Impressionist painter. He was a representative of Intimism and is also associated with the Nabis group of artists, who sought to open painting to decoration and the applied arts. After the group disbanded at the beginning of the 20th century, Bonnard developed an independent painting style that he varied little until his death, and in which an intense color effect became increasingly more important than the subject matter depicted.
