Max Liebermann

Max Liebermann (born on July 20, 1847, in Berlin; died on February 8, 1935, there) was a German painter and graphic artist. He is considered one of the most significant representatives of German Impressionism.

After training in Weimar and stays in Paris and the Netherlands, he initially created naturalistic works with social themes. Through his engagement with the French Impressionists, he developed a luminous color palette and a dynamic application of paint from 1880 onwards, which characterizes his main body of work.
