Georges Seurat

Georges-Pierre Seurat (December 2, 1859 in Paris; † March 29, 1891 ibid.) was a French painter and draftsman and, alongside Paul Signac, the most important representative of Pointillism. His father was a retired court bailiff who had saved up a small fortune. He lived a secluded life in his summer house in Le Raincy and visited his family only once a week.
